River was left behind when her family moved out. Although she wasn't in a fence, she never left the home she had always know, just waited for her family to come home. When we heard about her right before a big freeze, we knew we needed to go save her. River turned out to be one of the easier fosters we've ever had health wise. But it turned out she had been neglected for a long time. She was infested with fleas, had nails so long they were curled under and poking her feet bad, and had a mouth full of broken teeth. Once we got River up to date on her shots and comfortable, we moved forward on getting her mouth in better condition. She went in for a very expensive dental where she ended up having to have 14 extractions. But in true River form, she didn't let it change her sweet personality. Soon after River was adopted by the best family with the sweetest little girl and another darling Corgi. River and his new little girl absolutely love each other. She's living the best farm life now, where she gets to spend her days in the sun (her favorite) and her nights cuddling on the couch with her new family.
