PIPER

Piper was recued from a home with a friend in the middle of a deep freeze. Some good Samaritans were able to secure them from a home where they had no food water or shelter, during below freezing temps. When we got Piper she was unable to use her back legs and we thought she had an injury. In time we realized that she was just frozen. Her and her friend shivered for over a day before they were able to warm up. Piper was a very nervous girl for quite awhile, we could barely get her to sit with us and she wasn't fond of being pet. With time and lots of patience, Piper finally warmed up to us to the point that she would run to us when she saw us. In the beginning, we offered to let her sleep in bed with us but she wasn't interested. As she warmed up and decompressed, it became her favorite place to. Piper came in with quite the respiratory infection, after several vet visits we were able to nurse her back to health. We got her spayed and up to date on her vaccines. When the time came, we found the best home for Piper. A nice quiet and calm home, with a mom that is home with her all day.
